As summer is slowly coming to an end, I am finally getting around to posting some of my favorite shoots from the last few months. I had a blast photographing these two cuties at my Summer Mini Sessions held last month at Shoreline Beach in Santa Barbara. These two kiddos were so much fun to photograph... Love those big beautiful blue eye!! Just gorgeous!! The light was just stunning, the weather was warm, and the beach was empty (for the most part). It just doesn't get better than that!
I had a blast photographing this cute little surfer chick at Henrdy's Beach this past month! It was a chilly February morning here in Santa Barbara... Burrrr! On my drive to the photo shoot, I was hoping it wasn't going to pour down rain on us. Luckily, we got some beautiful overcast weather and spectacular light. As I was nice and warm with my jeans, sweater and Ugg boots, this girl was a trooper in her bikini. Although her toes were frozen from walking along the shoreline, she didn't seem to mind at all! Thanks for the fun shoot!!
Happy Valentine's Day!!! How adorable are these kiddos! I was cracking up as I edited all these images... So many fun expressions and poses! Where do they come up with this stuff...? Just too Cute! I really LOVE this themed photo shoot I put together for my Valentine's Day Mini Sessions a few weeks back! I like to use simple props that don't over power the photo, but still get the Valentine's Day message across. The children had a blast and loved playing around with the props I had prop along. Lucky for me, I brought extra heart-shaped balloons because they were popping left and right. It was a fun and playful photo shoot filled with smiles and laughter... So cute watching these kiddos get in their element. I wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day and I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do! XOXO
So far, 2014 has been filled with sweetness and love as I've been busy with many newborn photo sessions. What a beautiful way to start the year! With every newborn portrait I create, I am always amazed at these little beings and how different each and every baby is. This particular session was taken outdoors in January! Typically, I would not suggest doing a newborn shoot outside in the middle of winter. However, seeing as how we've had 80 degree weather here in Santa Barbara it's pretty much like summer minus the June gloom. This baby girl had to have been one of the easiest newborns I have ever photographed. She fell peacefully asleep and only woke for a few seconds here and there. What a cutie! I just love the baby rolls and those big pouty red lips... Adorable!
This sweet baby girl was born one day before the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. What a special way to kick off 2014 with this newborn photo session! I had the joy of photographing this little peanut at just a few days old... How lucky am I! I love the way these little ones curl up into the most adorable little poses (after much bouncing, rocking, and feeding, of course)! She was so tiny and her cute little baby cheeks just melt my heart.
Here is a Holiday Mini Session I did back in December that I had not had the chance to post until now... I just love these images! With the craziness of the Holiday Season, I was unable to post and update my website for a month or so. My time was spent shooting, editing, retouching, making Holiday cards, and doing print orders that I got behind on sharing what I had been creating. I am just now looking back into some of my favorite sessions and this was definitely one of them! What a darling little girl... So much life!
Talk about some cute kiddos! How adorable are these faces! I had the best time photographing this family over the holiday season at the Bacara Beach in Goleta, CA. From October to December, I was booked solid with photo shoots, editing, retouching, print orders, and holiday cards that I am just now getting to posting some of my favorite shoots. This was such a fun outdoor family shoot at the beach... These kiddos had a long car ride up to Santa Barbara for their photo shoot and they were more than excited to run around and explore the surrounding with me documenting. It was a gorgeous winter day in Southern California! Although we don't get snow or much weather in general here in SB, the air felt crisp and cool. The warmth from the sun combine with cool air is all the weather I need! Just perfect!
I had the privilege to photograph this little darling over the holiday season. This sweet baby girl was just a few days old when these newborn photos were taken... Although the house was far from quite with older two sisters running around, this little one just slept peacefully while I photographed her and her siblings. I just adore these newborn portraits and love that I got to capture such a special time for this family! I am sure they all had a wonderful Christmas with this cutie pie!
Here is another fun outdoor family photo shoot that was taken over the Holiday Season. I just love winter in Santa Barbara... Not many people get to run through the surf in December barefoot! What a treat!

Happy New Year! Wow, now that the Holidays have come to a close I can finally take a breath and blog some of my favorite photo sessions of the season! This was by far the busiest season that I have had to date! Although it was pure craziness trying to get everything done in time, it was well worth my efforts. I loved seeing all the Holiday cards arriving in my mailbox... So sweet! Thank you to all my wonderful clients and friends for having me document the spirit of the season with your families! I just love this photo above taken of my dear friends and their adorable little family. What a happy boy!! Love you guys!
Love this family photo session out on the bluffs in Santa Barbara. The light was fading quickly and we didn't have much time, but we managed to get some great shots just as the sun was setting on the horizon. It was breezy and cold out, but I just adore these photos and so happy we made this shoot happen. A big thank you to these kiddos for being such good sports even though they really had hoped to catch the end of the 49er game on this late Sunday afternoon. Happy Holidays!
Having photographed these girls a few times over the last year, I didn't think it was possible these sisters could get any more adorable than they already are. However, when they showed up to their photo shoot wearing these adorable hats I was proven very wrong!! How cute are these girls!! Love it! What a fun photo session at Alice Keck Park in downtown Santa Barbara. It was a chilly overcast morning, but that did not stop us from having a ball and capturing these adventurous girls.
Oh, how I just absolutely adore these photos! This photo shoot was not for a client, but for me. I had a vision... I wanted to create something beautiful with the feeling of winter and the approaching holidays. My idea was to express the essence of Christmas in a subtle and beautiful way... I think I got what I was hoping for. This adorable little girl was so excited to put on her white fairy dress and pose for the camera. We went through a TON of glitter and made a huge mess, but I think it was worth every minute we spent sweeping up. Thank you for making my vision come to life! XOXO
Here is another fun photo shoot from my Holiday Mini Sessions! I have had the pleasure of photographing these sisters over the last few years and I always enjoy their sweet little laughs and giggles! We had a great time together and I was able to captured some adorable photos of them as they explored their surroundings. It was a gorgeous morning in Goleta where I was holding a series of Mini Sessions... Although it was cool and overcast, the light was just gorgeous. I am always excited to wake up to fog and overcast weather when I have a photo shoot... It makes for soft beautiful light! Love it!
It's that time of year!! The holidays are around the corner and I have kicked off the season with my annual Holiday Mini Sessions. It was a beautiful October afternoon in Santa Barbara... The weather was a perfect 72 degrees, the sun was shining, and the light was spectacular. Here are some adorable photos that I captured during one of my sessions... Could this little girl be any cuter!!!
At one week old, I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet little guy and welcome him into the world. Although I had a baby boy this last February, I was still in awe of his petite little features, his wrinkly skin, and those sweet newborn baby noises. It is so easy to forget how tiny these little ones are in those first few weeks of life... I am so happy to have captured this moment in time for this sweet family! Lots of love to you all!
Every year I donate an outdoor family photo session to the Santa Barbara Montessori School for their annual fundraiser and auction. Their event is always spectacular and I love to help out this amazing school in any way I can. This sweet family won my donation this year! I could not have been more excited when these 3 adorable little girls showed up for their photo session. They were so excited to put on their pink dresses and play with all the fun props I brought along. We had an amazing afternoon together running through the grass and getting our feet wet in the tide.
Here was a portrait session I photographed this past summer that I just loved, but realized I never posted the photos! It was a gorgeous evening out at the Bacara Beach with the sun hidden behind a light layer of clouds. A perfect setting for some beautiful outdoor family photos! I never really know how it will go when including animals into a photo session. Sometimes it can go great and other times, not so much. However, I am always willing to give it a try! These two pups were amazing and I was so lucky to capture the special bond between this family and their furry friends.
