Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and safe 4th of July on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. What a spectacular day to celebrate this cherished holiday with our loved ones... The sun is shining, the weather is warm and the beaches are calling my name! It's time to head outdoors and and enjoy this amazing place that we call home. Before I head out to enjoy the day myself, I thought I would quickly share this fun shoot taken out at the Bacara Resort in Goleta, CA. I just adore this red, white, and blue inspired photo session with this sweet little toddler.

Summer Mini Sessions- Santa Barbara Family Photographer

Summer is here along with some images from my mini sessions taken a few weeks back!!! I love this time of year... The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and dinner at the beach is the perfect way to wind down the busy work day. I will be having a few more mini sessions coming up on August 10th at Shoreline Beach here in Santa Barbara... This is the perfect way to get some great shots of your little ones frolicking in the Santa Barbara sunshine and dipping their cute little toes in the ocean waves! Ahhh, those sweet summer days! LOVE THEM!

I can't believe I am just now posting these beautiful images taken during a photo session way back in March! Where did the time go! It has been a very busy year so far for Rebecca Farmer Photography and I have many new projects in the works that I am very excited about! I am so grateful to all my wonderful clients for coming back year after year and trusting me to creatively document these special moments in time. The photographs I capture will stay with each family forever and that is why I love to do what I do! One of the best parts of being a photographer is to see the smiles and hear the reactions of my clients once they see their images. I love how excited they get once they view all the photographs from their sessions. It is so fun to make people's day by surpassing their expectations of what they thought the images were going to look like! Another reason that I love being a Newborn, Children and Family photographer is that I get to see each individual family grow and to meet their additions along the way... Love it! I have photographed these two red heads multiple times and they just keep getting cuter. How adorable are their blue eyes and bright red hair... So adorable!

I had a blast photographing these two adorable girls in clothing by Matilda Jane last week! These clothes could not have been more much fun to photograph... They are so colorful and vibrant! Love it! I often have clients ask me what to wear to a photo session... My usual reply is to keep the clothing simple with a splash of color here and there. I love neutrals, creams, beige, eggshell, etc. Since these clothes were far from that, I was excited to see how they would photograph! Being more of a minimalist, I was pleasantly surprised with how these images turned out with the fun and crazy patterns! The location was perfect for this shoot with the tall green grass and the sun poking through the branches. I just love these images... Really makes it feel like spring has sprung here in Santa Barbara!

I had the best time photographing so many familiar faces during my February Mini Session held last month, especially this adorable bunch! It was a gorgeous afternoon in Santa Barbara with the sun peeking in and out of the clouds. It was picture perfect! This cute family was so fun to work with and their little guy was so easy going... I am loving his monster truck shirt which just happens to be his favorite piece of clothing! What a cutie pie!

Happy Valentine's Day!!! How adorable are these kiddos! I was cracking up as I edited all these images... So many fun expressions and poses! Where do they come up with this stuff...? Just too Cute! I really LOVE this themed photo shoot I put together for my Valentine's Day Mini Sessions a few weeks back! I like to use simple props that don't over power the photo, but still get the Valentine's Day message across. The children had a blast and loved playing around with the props I had prop along. Lucky for me, I brought extra heart-shaped balloons because they were popping left and right. It was a fun and playful photo shoot filled with smiles and laughter... So cute watching these kiddos get in their element. I wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day and I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do! XOXO

Santa Barbara Family Photography- Fun with the Jeffery's

This was such a fun family photo shoot with Jennifer, Daniel, and their cute little guy Elijah! It was a beautiful day in sunny Santa Barbara after many days of rain. We had to postpone out photo shoot multiple times because of the weather, but we finally made it out on this gorgeous day! I just love these sweet pictures of their cute little family. A funny little story behind this shoot... As we were taking family pictures, the little boy ran up to this man and his dog. The little boy started to pet the dog and the man said to me that I should stand over by him, get down low, and shoot in the direction he was pointing... "That's the shot," he said! Having my own opinion on how I wanted to shoot, I did not pay much attention to his comment. The man's wife chimed in and said "You should listen to him. He's a director." Being somewhat stubborn, I ignored their comments and just made some small talk. As they walked away, the dad of the little boy said to me... "You know that was Martin Scorsese, right?" I knew he looked familiar, but just did not put it together at the time. I had to laugh to myself... How did I not recognize him!

Here is another sneak peek at one of my Christmas Mini Portrait Sessions... The Young Family was so sweet and we captured some amazing family portraits for their 2012 Christmas card. It is not an easy task in sunny Santa Barbara to capture the essence of fall, but I think we did it here beautifully! The fallen leaves and the golden sun are just perfect! I always love when my clients are blown away when they see their family photos... Thanks to the Young Family for an amazing shoot! I hope to see you next year as well! :)

As a soon to be mother of two boys, I must say there is a part of my heart that melts when I get to photograph little girls in pretty dresses. I love the way they twirl around for the camera, so sweet and adorable! These two girls couldn't have been cuter with their big round eyes and pink dresses! It was a beautiful day for family photos at Chase Palm Park in Santa Barbara. The pictures turn out spectacular and will make one amazing Christmas card! The sun was shining and the cool breeze made us feel like fall is actually here to stay.

It has been one busy portrait season!!! I am just finally getting around to posting some of favorite family photo shoots from the last couple of months. The Nisen family was one of my first photo shoots of the Holiday Season... These boys were full of energy, which I just love! It is always fun to capture the true nature of young boys... So sweet! The oak trees were just beautiful and I love fall colors we so rarely see here in Santa Barbara.

There are no words for how sweet little guy is! Baby Jake is so blessed to have such a loving family and I was lucky enough to photograph some of their first memories together. Jake was so calm throughout the entire photo shoot and I was able to capture some very precious moments at their home in Santa Barbara, CA. I just love newborn portraits... These tiny little people grow up so quickly!
