Nearly 10 years ago when I graduated from the Brooks Institute of Photography and started my journey as a freelance photographer, I never imagined that I would be blessed with such a strong and amazing clientele that would come back year after year. Fast forward to the 2014 holiday season when I was so busy I could barely catch my breath. How things have changed! I want to say a big warm thank you to all of my amazing clients... This year with so many returning families, many asked for new ideas to enjoy their photos year round. So I’ve been busy making some very cool custom wall designs that allow them to showcase their images at home. The results are stunning and entirely personal!
This photo shoot was one of my Mini Sessions from November. This silly little girl really knows how to bring it! Bonus that her mom loves the creative process and always brings the best props. Her red scarf is such a simple touch, but adds so much to the images. Love these images!
Sometimes it’s easy to forget that we live in paradise here in Santa Barbara. So whenever I have the chance to work with a visiting family, I love getting the fresh new perspective of Santa Barbara’s amazing natural beauty that comes from seeing it through the eyes of someone enjoying it for the first time.
This shoot was for a sweet family vacationing in Carpinteria for the week with their extended family. It was literally the perfect summer beach day: the sun was shining, there was a soft, warm breeze keeping us cool...nothing short of an ideal afternoon. And these two sisters couldn’t have been any sweeter - their interaction was so fun to capture!

I had the pleasure of welcoming this little nugget into the world a few weeks back! Baby J was welcomed by his mom, dad, and two older brothers... What a lucky guy! This sweetheart fell right asleep for his newborn photo shoot and pretty much stayed that way for the entire 2 hours photo session. Amongst the pleasant chaos of having two older brothers, Baby J slept peacefully, barely waking when I moved him into position. It was so sweet to see how perfectly this little guy fit into his new family... So much love for this sweet little soul.
Spring in Santa Barbara is one of my favorite times of the year! The wildflowers take over with their beautiful vibrant colors and make for some stunning backdrops for my outdoor photography sessions. The concept for this photo shoot was to capture the playfulness and high-spirited energy of this sweet girl running amongst the yellow wildflowers. This particular location is a special place for this family... They have been exploring and enjoying this area since their little girl was a baby. I just love everything about these photos... Not only are they beautiful images to look at, they have significant meaning to this family and they will cherish them forever. XOXO
I had the best time photographing so many familiar faces during my February Mini Session held last month, especially this adorable bunch! It was a gorgeous afternoon in Santa Barbara with the sun peeking in and out of the clouds. It was picture perfect! This cute family was so fun to work with and their little guy was so easy going... I am loving his monster truck shirt which just happens to be his favorite piece of clothing! What a cutie pie!
Happy Valentine's Day!!! How adorable are these kiddos! I was cracking up as I edited all these images... So many fun expressions and poses! Where do they come up with this stuff...? Just too Cute! I really LOVE this themed photo shoot I put together for my Valentine's Day Mini Sessions a few weeks back! I like to use simple props that don't over power the photo, but still get the Valentine's Day message across. The children had a blast and loved playing around with the props I had prop along. Lucky for me, I brought extra heart-shaped balloons because they were popping left and right. It was a fun and playful photo shoot filled with smiles and laughter... Love this images of my two boys... As I write this post, I hear their laughter and giggles from the other room and it melts my heart. I couldn't imagine our life without these two little beings... I feel so lucky to be their mom! I love this image for so many reason... First off, I feel this image truly captures how sweet these guys are to one another. Secondly, I love their eyes... I could stare at them for hours. Lastly, this image really depicts my children as they are... Shirtless and wearing undies. My heart is full!
Valentine's Day is around the corner and love is in the air. To fulfill my creative juices and get in the spirit of the season, I put together this themed photo shoot for no other reason than to have some fun and play around with ideas! I absolutely adore these images... I love when my vision comes together and manifests itself so perfectly. I could not have done it without this sweet little girl who was so excited to pose for the camera. We had the best time playing with all the girly props I had brought along and she was so excited to put on pink lipstick! So funny! Being a mom of two little boys, I just loved all the girl energy and played dress-up right along with her! We talked about princesses and fairies, decorated our little fairy fortress, and let our imaginations take over! So much fun! I hope you all enjoy these images as much as I do...
Talk about some cute kiddos! How adorable are these faces! I had the best time photographing this family over the holiday season at the Bacara Beach in Goleta, CA. From October to December, I was booked solid with photo shoots, editing, retouching, print orders, and holiday cards that I am just now getting to posting some of my favorite shoots. This was such a fun outdoor family shoot at the beach... These kiddos had a long car ride up to Santa Barbara for their photo shoot and they were more than excited to run around and explore the surrounding with me documenting. It was a gorgeous winter day in Southern California! Although we don't get snow or much weather in general here in SB, the air felt crisp and cool. The warmth from the sun combine with cool air is all the weather I need! Just perfect!
I am so happy for this couple and the arrival of their first baby boy! In late 2013, I had the pleasure of taking both their maternity portraits and newborn photos. It gave me great joy to see this couple's journey into parenthood and document these memories for them. What an adorable family of 3! Congrats on your perfect little guy... I am so happy for you all. :)
I had the privilege to photograph this little darling over the holiday season. This sweet baby girl was just a few days old when these newborn photos were taken... Although the house was far from quite with older two sisters running around, this little one just slept peacefully while I photographed her and her siblings. I just adore these newborn portraits and love that I got to capture such a special time for this family! I am sure they all had a wonderful Christmas with this cutie pie!
These adorable children were the winners of a preschool fundraiser that I had donated to this last year. Because I love to help out local Santa Barbara schools in any way I can, each year I donate gift certificates for my services to a number of causes supporting children throughout Santa Barbara County. It is my pleasure to help raise money in hopes to provide support to our local schools and child educators. It puts a smile on my face to know that I can help in some small way... This was an outdoor family photo shoot I did over the holiday season here in Santa Barbara. How cute are these kiddos! Their mama did a great job coordinating outfits... Thanks for the fun shoot!!
