Happy New Year to all!! So far I’m loving 2015 and I hope you are too! Now that the holiday rush has come to a close, the kids are back in school, and all the holiday decor has been pack away for next year, I have some time to reflect on an amazing year and share some of the shoots that closed out 2014. Each year as fall and winter approach, my schedule gets a little crazy (to be honest, it is insanely nuts) and I find it hard to keep up with the blog and all the updates happening at the studio. So, please stay tuned in the next few week while I share some of my favorite shoots from the season! I hope you enjoy!

This sweet little guy was born in mid-October, just in time to join his family for the start of the holidays! There’s a beautiful magic to sharing our beloved traditions for the first time with our little ones. Personally, I’m always honored to work with a brand new baby... Talk about squishy sweetness! Just look at his beautiful face!

Keeping It Simple with Newborns, Santa Barbara Newborn Photographer

For the most part, I gravitate towards simplicity with my newborn photo sessions (I am not the biggest fan of over-propping) because it lets us focus on their sweet faces, tiny curled toes, delicate eyelashes and squishy little bodies - all of which are just so scrumptious! But when mama pulled out this tiny Santa hat for the shoot I just couldn’t resist. It was really appropriate given this little nugget was born just in time for the holidays!

After about 30 minutes of lulling this little one to sleep, he nestled in and I was able to capture some adorable keepsake moments for the family. His big brother was awesome - so caring and calm with his baby brother. Being a mother of two small boys it always melts my heart to see this profound sibling relationship forming.

Happy Valentine's Day!!! How adorable are these kiddos! I was cracking up as I edited all these images... So many fun expressions and poses! Where do they come up with this stuff...? Just too Cute! I really LOVE this themed photo shoot I put together for my Valentine's Day Mini Sessions a few weeks back! I like to use simple props that don't over power the photo, but still get the Valentine's Day message across. The children had a blast and loved playing around with the props I had prop along. Lucky for me, I brought extra heart-shaped balloons because they were popping left and right. It was a fun and playful photo shoot filled with smiles and laughter... So cute watching these kiddos get in their element. I wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day and I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do! XOXO

Happy New Year! Wow, now that the Holidays have come to a close I can finally take a breath and blog some of my favorite photo sessions of the season! This was by far the busiest season that I have had to date! Although it was pure craziness trying to get everything done in time, it was well worth my efforts. I loved seeing all the Holiday cards arriving in my mailbox... So sweet! Thank you to all my wonderful clients and friends for having me document the spirit of the season with your families! Having photographed these girls a few times over the last year, I didn't think it was possible these sisters could get any more adorable than they already are. However, when they showed up to their photo shoot wearing these adorable hats I was proven very wrong!! How cute are these girls!! Love it! What a fun photo session at Alice Keck Park in downtown Santa Barbara. It was a chilly overcast morning, but that did not stop us from having a ball and capturing these adventurous girls.

Here is another fun photo shoot from my Holiday Mini Sessions! I have had the pleasure of photographing these sisters over the last few years and I always enjoy their sweet little laughs and giggles! We had a great time together and I was able to captured some adorable photos of them as they explored their surroundings. It was a gorgeous morning in Goleta where I was holding a series of Mini Sessions... Although it was cool and overcast, the light was just gorgeous. I am always excited to wake up to fog and overcast weather when I have a photo shoot... It makes for soft beautiful light! Love it!

Words cannot describe how sweet it was to see Chance's 3 big brothers shower him with so much love! It was a beautiful morning in Santa Barbara up on the Mesa... Perfect weather for an indoor window-light photo shoot at my client's home. They had stunning floor to ceiling windows and the light filled the house so beautifully. Just gorgeous! We had hoped to do some newborn photos after Chance's birth, but the photo shoot had to be delayed a few weeks. At 3 months old, this little guy was already so strong holding his head up and giving me the most adorable expressions! What a treat!

Here is a fun shoot from my recent Summer Mini Sessions! It was a gorgeous afternoon out at La Mesa Park in Santa Barbara, CA. The sun was shining through the trees and there was not a cloud in the sky... Just perfect! These sisters were adorable in their cute little dresses and hats. With two little boys at home, I just love to be a girly girl at times! Even though we only had about 20 minutes, we had a fun little tea party together and got some very adorable photos! So much fun!

Oh, how I love a western cowboy themed photo shoot! This family showed up in the most adorable country attire... I love how it is just the right amount of country with a little hint of a modern flare. So cute! We had a great time out on the bluffs in Santa Barbara... The sun was shining through the tall eucalyptus trees and the light was raking across the ground. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to take some adorable outdoor family portraits!

Welcome to the world little Tucker!! This sweet baby boy was the most amazing newborn to photograph... He just slept and slept... and slept! Since this little nugget was born about a month, I was able to photograph him on his actual due date! He was teeny tiny when he was born, but is growing fast and already over 6lbs when I got to take his newborn portraits. It was a fun shoot and I always love when parents have cute little props and ideas in mind. I just love this boat they had in their home! So perfect! It made the most adorable prop for Tucker's newborn photo shoot and the images will match their home perfectly!

Hello little Keegan Montgomery!! It was such a pleasure to meet and photograph this sweet and loving family. I just love the adorable nursery they created for their little man. So much love and creativity was put into making a special space for baby Keegan. It turned out just beautiful!

For the last couple of months, I have been extremely busy with newborn photo sessions... Must be something in the water! :) I am just loving all these sweet little babes, especially since I just had a little guy of my own back in February!! It's so fun to see how different each and every baby is. Newborn sessions are so special and I just love sharing this intimate time with parents and their little bundles!

I had a blast photographing Jen, Brian, and their adorable little boy, Jake, a few weeks back here in Santa Barbara! I can't believe how big Jake has grown! I just adore this sweet family and have grown very close to them over this last year while documenting all the wonderful milestones that have taken place in their lives. From pregnancy to newborn photos and now Jake at 6 months, I am excited share and capture these special moments. It means the world to me to be part of this exciting time! Meet Wilder Stone- Newborn Photos, Santa Barbara, CA

My sweet Wilder Stone arrived on February 12th, 2013 at 9:15am. He weighed in at 9lbs 3oz... He was one big boy! The labor was long, crazy, and intense, but isn't that how birth is supposed to be? Although I am taking maternity leave until April, I had to take some newborn pictures of my little man in his first few days of life. Even though I wanted to spend the day relaxing in bed and recover from the birth, I found the energy to put together a mini photo session so that I can always remember this special time in our lives. Wilder's big brother, Roman, is so excited to finally hold "his baby!" We all are so happy to have this amazing little being in our lives. I feel very blessed!

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our little boy, Wilder! I am 40 weeks pregnant this Friday and could not be feeling more alive. This pregnancy has been a wonderful journey and we all are so excited to finally meet our newest addition. As I have been trying to relax and mentally prepare for birth (not an easy task with a 3 year old running around with unlimited amounts of energy), I decided to take some self-portraits to remember these last few days of pregnancy. So, this afternoon I found the energy and put the camera up on a tripod to snap a few maternity photos for myself. I will cherish these photos forever and look forward to the day I can touch my toes again!

I had a wonderful family photo shoot with the Alwood's over Thanksgiving weekend. I just adore these two sisters... They were so sweet and cute with one another. Their laughs and giggle were quite contagious! They put a smile on everyone's face throughout the entire photo shoot, making my job quite easy! The beautiful afternoon fog here in Santa Barbara always makes for the best natural light... It creates a dreamy surreal atmosphere which I just love!! For me, it doesn't get better than that!

Sweet little Jaimeson was such a pleasure to photograph earlier this fall!!! Only 10 days and just the cutest little thing. She had a head full of jet black hair and the most petite features on her adorable face. I just love photographing newborn babies... Although, it is very challenging at times, it is the most precious thing to see them all curled up for the camera. With all my newborn photo sessions, I am always amazed at how tiny these little beings are. The first few weeks go by so quickly... It's almost a blur. I am so excited when I get to capture this short moment in time for parents... It really is magical!
