Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and safe 4th of July on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. What a spectacular day to celebrate this cherished holiday with our loved ones... The sun is shining, the weather is warm and the beaches are calling my name! It's time to head outdoors and and enjoy this amazing place that we call home. Before I head out to enjoy the day myself, I thought I would quickly share this fun shoot taken out at the Bacara Resort in Goleta, CA. I just adore this red, white, and blue inspired photo session with this sweet little toddler.

Sweet Little Surprise, Santa Barbara Newborn Photos

With 5 siblings awaiting his arrival, you can bet this little peanut was loved from the start. As with most of my newborn clients, I like to do newborn sessions at home so mama and babe are comfortable and relaxed. This family's house was just stunning and had the most beautiful natural light...I could not ask for more!

Mama had the most adorable nursery prepared which helped inspire so many of the photographs. The color palette was so subtle and gorgeous. Grey, white, cream, silver and highlights of gold made for some truly beautiful images that capture the purity of a newborn!

I just adore this family (now 8 strong!) and had the best time documenting the arrival of this sweet little surprise.

The Fun of Turning 1! Santa Barbara Baby Photographer

It was another glorious morning in Santa Barbara, but for one local family it was a very special day. This bright little girl was celebrating the first of many birthdays to come and her parents were marveling at how quickly the year had gone by.

Capturing baby’s first major milestone is one of my favorite assignments. At this age, baby is on the go, inquisitive about the camera and very amused by all the silly things I do behind the lens to get them giggling and laughing. (And even if I can’t manage to crack a smile, there’s nothing quite as adorable as a little one’s sweet serious face).

This little gal was a ray of sunshine - such a happy baby and just too cute playing with the blocks I had brought for the shoot. Her parents were thrilled with the photos and so grateful to have these beautiful images to mark such a special family time.

What a beautiful shoot with this cute family of four! We had a fun and interesting time at The Grassini Family Vineyard in the gorgeous Santa Ynez Valley back in April of the year. Yes, I know I am a little behind on posting updates on the blog... It's already July! Where has the time gone! The first 20 minutes of this shoot were just stunning! The light was peeking through a giant oak tree in a large open grassy field... Just Beautiful! However, the weather quickly took a turn for the worse. As dark clouds decided to roll in on us and the rain came sprinkling down, we found some shelter hoping the weather might pass. Once we realized our shoot came to an end, we decided that we would reconvene in Santa Barbara a few days later to finish our photo shoot. I just love all these images and the fun crazy story of how these photos came to be!

What a beautiful photo shoot with one of my favorite families in Santa Barbara! How darling are these three little children? I really don't think they could be any cuter if they tried! I just adore these images taken out at the Ellwood Butterfly Preserve in Goleta, CA. I have had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family for a couple years now... I just love watching these siblings grow into the the funny little people they are. The image above is one of my absolute favorite photos from this particular family photo shoot. It was the mother's hope to capture her daughter's big bright-eyed smile for her 6 month photo. We definitely got what she was hoping for! I just love this image!

Here is another fun photo shoot from my Holiday Mini Sessions! I have had the pleasure of photographing these sisters over the last few years and I always enjoy their sweet little laughs and giggles! We had a great time together and I was able to captured some adorable photos of them as they explored their surroundings. It was a gorgeous morning in Goleta where I was holding a series of Mini Sessions... Although it was cool and overcast, the light was just gorgeous. I am always excited to wake up to fog and overcast weather when I have a photo shoot... It makes for soft beautiful light! Love it!
