Oh, how I love a western cowboy themed photo shoot! This family showed up in the most adorable country attire... I love how it is just the right amount of country with a little hint of a modern flare. So cute! We had a great time out on the bluffs in Santa Barbara... The sun was shining through the tall eucalyptus trees and the light was raking across the ground. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to take some adorable outdoor family portraits!

What a beautiful photo shoot with my little sister, Bella, and her best friend, Pal, at a gorgeous ranch in Simi Valley, Ca. Ever since I can remember, Bella has had an obsession with horses... Being 18 years older than my little sister, I remember her as a tiny baby in awe of the horses on our street as we strolled past for our morning walks. As she has grown older, her love for horses has grown as well... It is hard to believe that so many years have passed, but one thing remains the same... Her connection to these beautiful creatures. It was so fun to visit and photograph the ranch where she spends most of her days riding and enjoying these precious moments with her very own horse, Pal. I love these portraits of them together... It really captures the essence of their special bond.

One of my favorite things about being a children and family photographer is that I get to see many of these kids year after year. I get to watch them grow and develop their funny little personalities... Such a joy! They get to know me, and I, them. I photographed this sweet girl a couple years back for their family Christmas photos. Even though I have two kids of my own, I still am amazed at how quickly children grow and change! Makes me want to go photograph my children this moment just to capture them as they are today. How does time fly by so fast?

I had the privilege of photographing this sweet family at a private beach in Santa Barbara... What a perfect day it was! The cabanas were out, the umbrellas were up, and everyone was having a great time. We walked up the beach to get away from the crowd and the scenery could not have been more gorgeous! I had such a blast photographing these brothers as they ran up and down the shoreline kicking the sand up with their feet. It is these special moments that I am so grateful to capture. Another gorgeous day in Santa Barbara! The sun was out, the weather was warm... Perfect day for a family photo shoot! These two boys had me hustling and bustling to get what I needed, but I was more than happy to! I just love catching those genuine moments when kids are in their element unaware that I am snapping away. It always makes my days when parents are amazed once they see their photos... I am so happy to have captured these special moments!

Although the sky was in a haze from a recent fire near Painted Cave and the wind was blowing in full force, this was a family of troopers! The weather conditions were not ideal for outdoor family photos, but I am so happy that we made it happen. The light was gorgeous from all the smoke in the sky (probably the only positive thing about the fire) and these adorable kids were having a blast. Being from out of town, this family just loved it here out on the bluff and the children played until the sun went down. Such a lovely memory for this family... Thanks for trusting me and going with the flow!

It is very important to me to support local schools and charities in Santa Barbara County, so each year I donate about 5 to 10 photo session to help support the educational system in our area. I hope my donations make a difference and that we can all somehow contribution to our future generations. These were the lucky winners of one of my donations! It was a magical evening out at the Elwood Bluffs in Goleta... The sun was peeking out between the puffy white clouds and the light was just gorgeous! These kiddos were having a blast running amongst the eucalyptus trees and the grassy brush. I just love all the beautiful colors! Thanks for a wonderful photo shoot!

When a friend mentioned this adorable idea of photographing a daughter in her mother's wedding dress I was so inspired! What a great idea! Not only was the mother so excited to pull out her wedding dress after years of being boxed up, her daughter, Karly, was even more excited to play dress-up with all these beautiful things! What a fun photo shoot with one adorable little girl. Thank you Karly for being such a good little model... I hope you had as much fun as I did! I had the best afternoon photographing Maggie... What a ham!! She was so hilarious and loved to pose for the camera with her school friend watching on the sidelines throughout most of the photo shoot. Maggie had a blast playing with all my photo props and trying on every single hat I brought... I have a thing for hats too! I just love her beautiful red hair against her cream dress. The sunlight came streaking through the trees and made for the most gorgeous light... It was a magical afternoon here in Santa Barbara after weeks of rain. It's so nice to have the sun out again!!

You wouldn't believe we live in Southern California with the last month few months of rain and storms that have been rolling in. Although the weather has been a challenge, I was able to catch a few good hours with The Muench Family before another storm approached. I had the best time photographing this sweet family! Their little girl was slightly camera shy, but so adorable! She eventually warmed up to the camera and I got some terrific photographs of them all playing among the beautiful oak tree here in Santa Barbara. It is such a pleasure to live here with all the wonderful locations for outdoor photography... We really are lucky to live here!

I had a wonderful family photo shoot with the Alwood's over Thanksgiving weekend. I just adore these two sisters... They were so sweet and cute with one another. Their laughs and giggle were quite contagious! They put a smile on everyone's face throughout the entire photo shoot, making my job quite easy! The beautiful afternoon fog here in Santa Barbara always makes for the best natural light... It creates a dreamy surreal atmosphere which I just love!! For me, it doesn't get better than that!

It is not an easy task in sunny Santa Barbara to capture the essence of fall, but I think we did it here beautifully! The fallen leaves and the golden sun are just perfect! As a soon to be mother of two boys, I must say there is a part of my heart that melts when I get to photograph little girls in pretty dresses. I love the way they twirl around for the camera, so sweet and adorable! These two girls couldn't have been cuter with their big round eyes and pink dresses! It was a beautiful day for family photos at Chase Palm Park in Santa Barbara. The pictures turn out spectacular and will make one amazing Christmas card! The sun was shining and the cool breeze made us feel like fall is actually here to stay.
